The core working principle of noodle packaging machines is to use automated mechanical mechanisms to perform a continuous process that includes quantitative filling, sorting, bag-making/bag-taking, product loading, sealing, and finished-product output. These machines are compatible with various packaging materials, such as plastic bags and paper bags, and are broadly categorized into two types: pillow-type packaging machines (the mainstream type) and vertical packaging machines. The specific principles are as follows:

The pillow-type packaging machine is suitable for packaging bundled dried noodles. The finished product has a “pillow-shaped” appearance and is commonly used equipment in noodle production lines. The working process consists of five steps:
Feeding and Sorting

The dried and cut bundled noodles are fed into the equipment’s noodle-arranging mechanism either via a conveyor belt or by manual feeding. The noodle-arranging mechanism uses push rods or baffles to neatly organize the noodle bundles, ensuring that both ends are aligned and free from skewing. At the same time, it controls the spacing between incoming batches to maintain a steady packaging rhythm.
Bag making and film feeding

The packaging film (either plastic film or composite paper film) is mounted on a take-up reel and, after passing through guide rollers and an alignment device, enters the bag-making machine. The bag-making machine folds the flat film into a cylindrical shape and simultaneously uses heated sealing rollers to thermally seal the longitudinal seam of the film, thereby forming a continuous tube of packaging bags. The width of the film can be adjusted according to the length of the hanging bundles.
Material loading

The neatly arranged noodle bundles are conveyed by a conveyor chain at a constant speed into the forming packaging bags. The equipment’s synchronous tracking mechanism precisely matches the noodle conveying speed with the bag-making speed, thereby preventing empty bags or material blockages.
Sealing and Cutting

Horizontal heat sealing: Once the noodle bundles reach the designated position, the heat-sealing blade descends to thermally seal both ends of the packaging bag (simultaneously completing the rear-sealing of the previous bag and the front-sealing of the next bag). The sealing temperature is adjusted according to the film material—typically 120–160℃ for plastic films, while paper bags require a hot-melt adhesive application system.

Cutting and Separation: After heat sealing is complete, the cutting blade moves in synchronization to cut the continuous packaging bags into individual finished packages. The cut edges are smooth and free of burrs.
Finished product output

The packaged noodles are conveyed out via a discharge conveyor belt. Some models are also equipped with additional features such as weight detection, metal detection, and inkjet coding and marking; nonconforming products are automatically rejected.
